Tech Summit
Workshop - Effective Designer and Developer Collaboration
Overview
The topics presented ranged from what the we found to be an effective approach to understanding and implementing user experience in both design and development, and the steps required to prove and validate a concept through visual workflows.
Additionally, we discussed the necessity to create an environment that harbors designer-developer collaboration and what technical teams should avoid.
To end the presentation, we organized an activity called Crazy Eights, a fast sketching exercise that challenges people to sketch eight ideas in eight minutes.
The audience, which ranged from NYU employees to students from IT, Tisch, Steinhardt, and more, were given the prompt, “How can we improve in/out-class communication/collaboration,” to ideate and develop among themselves.
The activity sparked some creative ideas like collaborative digital whiteboards and in-class chat-boards.
